ALEKSANDRA MIHAJLOVIC BEAUTIFUL IN BELGRADE

Born in Belgrade, Serbian model, Aleksandra Mihajlovic is deeply proud of her roots and heritage, “I have always loved the city’s energy, vibe and people, so my childhood left me with beautiful memories and growing up here was really fun and peaceful.”

With her deep brown eyes and long dark hair, which flows past her shoulders, Aleksandra is an incredibly striking figure, full of fun, and charisma. “I’m so glad to do an interview with you and to give people a chance to get to know me better.” She says with a gleaming smile.

“I love the simple things in life.”

“I think I would describe myself as funny, persistent and kind.” And how would your friends describe you I ask? She laughs and pauses for a moment. “My friends on the other hand would definitely describe me as clumsy, ambitious and a little crazy.”

One of Aleksandra’s many passions is travelling, but it is Belgrade where she feels most at home amidst its timeless architecture, lively street markets, and cafes, where there’s an undeniable sense of the city’s vibrant cultural allure.

“I love the simple things in life. Today my favourite things to do in Belgrade are grabbing a cup of coffee with friends in my neighbourhood and just chatting about life and plans for the future. But also, sometimes when I am alone, I love to walk around and admire the city and the history behind it.”

Even from a young age, Aleksandra had her heart set on being a model, “I know that people’s view on modelling is perhaps not so good. But it is something that I have always wanted to be. Even as a little girl, you could catch me being photographed by my parents on every summer vacation posing for the camera.”

Under the glare of the spotlight, Aleksandra is captivating, sultry and seductive, exuding confidence, with her full cherry lips curled mischievously, as she looks into the lens of the camera. “There is this feeling when the camera turns on that I’m entering my alter ego – confident, elegant, feminine and sexy Alex. I feel like I’m a piece of art. In my everyday life, I feel like a cute, normal and funny girl.”

Aleksandra’s profile has begun to increase as a result of social media, and she has worked with multiple brands on several exciting campaigns. But it’s her love of 35mm cinematic shoots that truly arouses her excitement. “Lately, I realised that my favourite shoots to do are vintage shoots which are also in my opinion the highlight of my career so far.”

It was Spanish photographer, Luis Guzman, whom Aleksandra recently worked with on a series of vintage-inspired shoots, “When it comes to my work,” Luis explains, “I seek to provoke and evoke strong emotions through bold compositions, light and shadows and if all it’s with a vintage or retro twist even better!”

It’s Luis’s use of vintage and retro photography which adds that enticing element to his work. You sense the thought that goes into each image, whether it’s the variety of techniques he uses or the locations he calls upon and Aleksandra is the perfect subject for these shoots, bringing energy and excitement with her undeniable sex appeal in each image.

“I also love working with the Serbian bamboo brand Pomirishi, they always create the best atmosphere and I feel most comfortable working with them.” You can see the love that Aleksandra has for her job, but it has come with challenges.

The modelling industry is incredibly fierce and at times unforgiving and cruel. Whilst growing up, Aleksandra tried to sign for numerous modelling agencies in Belgrade but found they could be incredibly critical. “They would always find problems, with measurements and weight or with my curves.”

Determined not to give up, she began taking her own images and posting them across social media. “Eventually people started to like my work, photographers began to ask me for collaborations, and fashion brands got in touch to work with me, and here I am today! It feels like it’s been a long journey and I could talk about it for days.”

Away from the camera, Aleksandra is incredibly down to earth and engaging, describing her own style as natural, casual and relaxed, and despite her clear, glowing complexion and porcelain skin she swears that she has no beauty routine.

Belgrade will always be the place she calls home, but she loves to travel and explore the world and her eyes twinkle when she describes trips to the French coast and experiencing the sunshine of Cannes.

“It feels like it’s been a long journey and I could talk about it for days.”

With 2024 just around the corner what does the future hold for Aleksandra? “You know, for the future, I have so many aspirations and goals, but the main one is to become successful and an independent woman with her own business” Well, we for one, would not bet against it happening.
