As The Giallorossi, led by Daniele De Rossi, once more prepares to enter their Gladiatorial arena to battle with city foes Lazio, the club crest will sit proudly alongside the three stripes of adidas. Side by side, they stand together like a band of brothers, always there for each other, never stopping, never relenting, never surrendering. For 90 minutes each AS Roma player who takes to the field will wear the jersey with pride. Reflecting exactly what it was created for.
adidas and AS Roma present the ASR Origins Jersey 2023/24, a tribute to the club’s history.
The legacy of the 1990s and early 2000s returns to the field for a special occasion that has always made the hearts of Giallorossi fans beat faster.
In the 183rd Derby della Capitale, AS Roma will wear a jersey that evokes historical moments for the Roman club, redesigning it to suit contemporary tastes for new generations of fans.
The black herringbone weave contrasts with the jersey’s red base, helping to make this garment an example of style and elegance that transcends sport.
Across the heart, the chest bears the club’s traditional crest, never used in this shape on the pitch. On the heart side, there is a modern and authentic representation of the traditional crest, used by AS Roma since 1927 and the club’s first 35 years.
The crest is embellished with the first form of the ASR monogram taken from the badge that belonged to the Club’s founder and first president, with the Capitoline she-wolf above the chest.
The right side features the adidas logo in white, and the three stripes start from the iconic collar on an orange base and continue on the shoulders with the orange colour returning in the sleeves’ finish.
The team will take to the field matching the bright red jersey with white shorts and black socks, just as they did at the turn of the 1990s and 2000s.
AS Roma legend Marco Delvecchio became Italian champion with the Giallorossi at the end of the 2000/01 season, and his name is forever etched in the hearts of Romanistas. As the man who put Lazio to the sword on countless occasions, it was only fitting that he should be part of the launch to celebrate the ASR Origins Jersey
