AVI-8 Watches and Royal British Legion Commemorate 100 Years of Heroes

A new line of stylish watch with profits supporting remembrance charities.

AVI-8 Watches and The Royal British Legion have announced a partnership dedicated to recognising 100 years of heroism. The watchmaker and the British charity have unveiled two new timepieces produced in line with Remembrance Sunday, to support and commemorate this charity in its centennial year.

We Few We Happy Few We Band of Brothers

The ‘Flyboy Royal British Legion Founder’s Chronograph’ and ‘Flyboy Royal British Legion Chairman’s Meca-Quartz’ watches are limited to 1,000 pieces, and each watch sold will contribute to the charity and support those who currently serve in the Armed Forces, veterans and their families.

All watches from this partnership shall be presented with an exclusive RBL 2021 dated poppy label pin, an enduring symbol of support for the Armed Forces both past and present.

To Those Who Have Given So Much for So Many

The two new timepieces have been inspired by the charity’s first Chairman, Sir Thomas Frederick Lister, and the first President, Field Marshall Earl Haig. The Royal British Legion was formed by Lister and Haig in the aftermath of the First World War to fight for the rights of those that had served in combat.

Today, the charity continues to stand with the Armed Forces community and challenge injustices to ensure all those who have served and sacrificed on our behalf get the fair treatment and recognition they deserve.

Louise Ajdukiewicz, Assistant Director of High Value Giving Royal British Legion, was delighted to be able to officially announce the partnership: “We are incredibly proud to launch these new timepieces from our partnership collection with AVI-8 and are grateful for their support. In the RBL’s centenary year, we remain dedicated to our mission of creating better futures for all those who serve and have served with the British Armed Forces. The funds raised from these limited-edition timepieces will ensure we can continue this work in the years to come.”

A Time to Reflect and Remember

Members, volunteers, and staff have been at the heart of the Royal British Legion since their formation in 1921.

In their centenary year they are celebrating the people who have not only contributed to our history, but to their communities and beyond.

This year they will be reflecting on what the next 100 years of Remembrance could look like by examining how people choose to remember and why.

The partnership between AVI-8 Watches continues to tell the story of untold bravery and sacrifice. Passing it onto the next generation and throughout the hands of time, so that they too can understand the importance of why we remember.

More Than Just a Watch Brand

AVI-8 present timepieces that are timeless yet always relevant in remembering the heroism of the many who have been involved in the chapters of aviation. They have built a community and shed light on the importance of aviation history and its heroes through sleekly designed watches and profit-sharing initiatives such as this.

The AVI-8 collection of timepieces seeks to honour both the aircraft and the untold story of the aviators who have dedicated themselves both in and out of the cockpit to bring these incredible machines to life.
