On May 12, 1985, Verona made history by becoming the only team from a non-regional capital city in Serie A to win the Italian Championship.
Forty years later, Hellas Verona and its technical partner Joma proudly present a special kit dedicated to that glorious achievement.
THE FOURTH JERSEY: A TRIBUTE TO LEGENDS
The launch of the fourth jersey is just the beginning. It marks the most symbolic moment in a series of initiatives designed to honor the legendary team that defied the odds under coach Osvaldo Bagnoli—the mastermind who turned a dream into reality.
The kit draws direct inspiration from the uniform worn by the Gialloblù during Atalanta vs. Verona, the match on May 12, 1985, that secured their Scudetto with one game to spare.
FOR ONE DAY ONLY
The special 40th-anniversary kit will be worn by Coach Zanetti’s first team in a single match: Verona vs. Lecce, scheduled for the weekend of May 10–11 (exact date and time to be confirmed by Lega Serie A).
To mark the occasion, a series of special events will take place at the stadium, allowing fans to relive and celebrate that historic triumph together.
THE SHIRT: ICONIC DESIGN, MODERN TOUCHES
Inspired by the jersey worn in Atalanta vs. Verona (May 12, 1985), this special kit stays true to tradition while incorporating modern details.
- Color & Stripes: The kit is yellow with subtle blue pinstripes that intersect with the club’s crest.
- Crest Update: The mastiff emblem from the 2024/25 Home jersey features the number 40 at the top to commemorate the championship, along with “1985-2025” interspersed with the Scudetto tricolor.
- Technical Partner: The Joma logo appears on the right side.
- Special Tributes:
- The tricolor emblem is prominently displayed just below the collar on the back, honoring Bagnoli’s team.
- Inside the collar, a patch features a quote from Roberto Puliero, the legendary voice of Verona’s triumphs:
“AND THE CITY EXPLODED IN ITS HIGHEST SHOUT.”
- Limited Edition: The jersey is available in short-sleeve and long-sleeve versions, with only 1,985 individually numbered copies produced—symbolising the year of Verona’s historic victory.
