MONDAINE is a «love» brand in Switzerland and in many other countries worldwide. Not least because the entire Mondaine Group has been focusing intensively on our environment and its resources for decades.

As part of this approach, all the watches made by the family-owned company are produced with up to 80% solar energy in its factory in Biberist. Under the slogan WE CARE, the Swiss company is in tune with the times, is engaged in finding alternative and ecologically meaningful raw materials for watch production, is testing resource-saving production processes and is completely CO2-neutral. High-quality, plant-based alternatives to animal leather for making watch straps are therefore also an important issue for the company.

Made with high-quality composite grape material, MONDAINE has created a range of upcycled watches without an increase in price, which still retains the classically stylish look of the original MONDAINE timepieces first created in 1986.

Collaborating with Italian manufacturer VEGEA™, MONDAINE’s new vegan grape leather straps are expertly crafted to ensure they possess the high-quality look and feel of MONDAINE’s original eather straps. 

This is achieved through an innovative upcycling process by utilizing the organic waste of wine production, such as the stems, seeds, and skin of the grapes, to make grape leather. The result is a particularly soft, comfortable-to-wear, and 100% vegan watchstrap, which beautifully complements the best-selling MONDAINEClassic Collection timepieces.

MONDAINE’svegan grape leather timepieces are available in a variety of case sizes, in brushed or polished stainless steel, and in either brown or black vegan grape leather, featuring the striking red liningMONDAINE has become known for. Each timepiece also retains the iconic MONDAINE red crown, red seconds hand, and white dial.
