On July 5, 1984, Diego Armando Maradona was introduced as the new player for Napoli, a moment that forever altered the recent history of the city.
A CHERISHED MEMORY FOR THE ENTIRE CITY OF NAPLES
Forty years later, NSS presents a project dedicated to the enduring bond between Naples and Maradona, demonstrating how he remains a myth and icon even more now than ever before.
The project includes two events. The first will take place on July 4th in Piazza San Pasquale, where the photographic book “Maradona Tatuato” will be unveiled by NSS Newsstand.
This volume features stories of individuals who have personally paid tribute to the Argentine legend.
Additionally, the new “J’Adore Napoli” shirt, inspired by the one Diego wore on the day of his presentation—which initially went unnoticed but is now iconic—will be available at the event, symbolising a cherished memory for the entire city of Naples.
For this occasion, NSS has also created a series of three collectable cards that commemorate unforgettable moments in Maradona’s life, drawing inspiration from action figures and famous wrestling characters.
You can join NSS on Thursday, July 4th, from 6:00 PM in Piazza San Pasquale in Naples and enjoy free beer and a DJ set by Salotto Italiano.
LARGO MARADONA
“J’Adore Napoli – A Tribute to Maradona” continues on Friday, July 5th, with a special screening of the documentary “I Saw Maradona.”
This film retraces Diego Maradona’s first hours in Naples through the voices of those who experienced that day up close.
Produced by NSS, the documentary will be shown at Largo Maradona in the Spanish Quarter, beneath the iconic mural that has become one of the city’s most visited sites.
The screening will begin at 8 PM. Bracelets for entry can be collected from the NSS newsstand on July 4th.
Attendees will have access to beer, pizza, and lemonade during the screening.
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY ASSOCIATED WITH NSS FOR THE EVENT AND CONGRATULATIONS ON SUCH A FANTASTIC PROJECT.
