**Capturing the Spirit of the Arctic: The Tromsø series**
**Part 1 Matchday prep.**
As I watched the tractor going down the field for the 50th time already, pushing the snow off the green artificial grass pitch, I began to wonder if this match was going to be played . I found myself reflecting on the incredible persistence of the tractor operators and snow shovelers, all working tirelessly to make sure the game we all love—football—could go ahead.
Everyone, from the director to the administration workers, was dedicated to making this game happen. Hours passed, and though every green stroke of the pitch immediately turned white again, there was no doubt that the match would be played. From 10 AM until 4 PM, one hour before kick-off, the tractors and snow shovelers were continuously going up and down, preparing the field for the match.
The love for football here is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. The persistence required to play the game, even in the most extreme weather conditions, is beyond me. The people in the North have an authentic and deep passion for football, demonstrating resilience to play under any circumstances.
There is beauty to football in Norway and the Eliteserien that I have yet to experience anywhere else.
So, the next time you kick a ball, think of Tromsø.
