“Until now, I had never shared my true, difficult story, so I think people might be surprised by it.”
MEGGHI GALO: THE STORY SO FAR..
Born in Albania in 1996 and raised in the picturesque Tuscan town of Lucca, Megghi Galo has always been a woman on the move—both literally and figuratively.
Today, she calls the bustling city of Milan home, a place where her vibrant personality and ambitious spirit feel truly at ease.
“Lucca always felt too small for me,” she confides. “Here in Milan, I feel like myself. Life is fast-paced, stimulating, and full of opportunities.”
Megghi’s path to the spotlight is anything but conventional. From dreams of becoming a lawyer to a life-changing stint on the Italian reality show Uomini & Donne, her career began in an unexpected way.
“A dear friend sent in my application just for fun, and before I knew it, my life completely changed,” she recalls. After balancing her barista job with the demands of reality TV, Megghi decided to fully embrace the opportunities ahead. “Having the courage to change my reality was the best decision I could have made.”
Now a model, content creator, and rising actress, Megghi’s career boasts collaborations with world-renowned brands and unforgettable moments, such as attending the Venice Film Festival.
She’s also expanding her horizons in the entertainment industry, recently joining the cast of Ricomincio da Taaac by Il Milanese Imbruttito.
Despite her achievements, Megghi remains refreshingly grounded.
“By nature, I’m someone who’s never fully satisfied and always expects more from herself. But I’ve learned to be grateful for everything I achieve.
“Being a very ambitious girl, I have several dreams, but I’m also superstitious, so I prefer to keep them to myself. In the meantime, I strive to bring the best version of myself to my work, hoping to do even better than last year.”
In our conversation, Megghi opens up about the pressures of her fast-paced industry, from the high expectations of her community to the perfectionism that fuels her creativity. “Once, I had to redo a video 12 times—I felt like I wasn’t good enough!” she shares candidly.
Yet, the joy of connecting with her largely female audience outweighs the challenges. “They’ve been so supportive during difficult times, like my mom’s cancer or my miscarriages. Their shared experiences made me feel less alone.”
Off-camera, Megghi’s life is just as dynamic. Whether cheering on Juventus at the stadium, tackling escape rooms with friends, or embracing her many sides through fashion—“Sometimes I’m a tomboy, sometimes sexy, and sometimes elegant”—she embodies versatility.
Her iconic bob haircut might be her signature look, but it’s her cheerful and approachable personality that truly resonates.
“People often say, ‘I thought you’d be stuck-up,’ but I’m the most cheerful, sociable, and funny person!”
Looking ahead, Megghi dreams of a future in television hosting, while staying focused on bringing her best self to her work and passions.
“I strive to do even better than last year,” she says with ambition and humility. Whether it’s through her content, acting, or simply sharing her story, Megghi continues to inspire and connect with her community. As she puts it, “At the end of the day, I’m just a simple girl, and I think my followers appreciate me for that.”
Throughout our time together, Megghi Galo shares insights into her career, the struggles she’s faced, and her vision for the future, offering a glimpse into the heart and drive that makes her who she is.
I LOVE MILAN. HERE, I FEEL LIKE MYSELF
I was born in Albania in 1996, a country I hadn’t experienced much since I moved to Italy as a child. However, I’ve come to appreciate it as I grew older.
Now, every summer, I go back to visit my grandparents and relatives who still live there. The story of my family between Albania and Italy is very delicate and one I’ve never shared before, but I hope one day I’ll have the courage to tell it.
I grew up in Tuscany, in Lucca, and seven years ago, I moved to Milan. I love Milan; here, I feel like myself. Lucca always felt “too small” for me, while living here is incredibly stimulating.
Sometimes, I miss my family, so we try to see each other often, but life here is so fast-paced that there’s little time to think.
HAVING COURAGE TO CHANGE MY REALITY
I started this job about eight years ago, but back then, it wasn’t as clearly defined as it is now.
I wanted to become a lawyer, but in 2016, after breaking up with my first boyfriend, a dear friend of mine, just for fun, sent my application to Maria De Filippi’s show “Uomini & Donne.” That’s when my life completely changed.
Unexpectedly, I got selected, so I started this journey, which lasted about five months. At the time, I was working in a bar, so it wasn’t easy managing both my barista job and the television experience simultaneously.
Once the show ended, I decided to continue on this path. I think having the courage to change my reality was the best decision I could have made.
I WOULDN’T CHANGE THIS JOB FOR ANYTHING
By nature, I’m someone who’s never fully satisfied and always expects more from herself, but I’ve learned to be grateful for everything I achieve.
I would never have imagined attending the Venice Film Festival, and participating in exclusive events with international stars.
I’ve even worked as a radio host, and this year, I’m part of the cast of the movie “Ricomincio da Taaac,” by Il Milanese Imbruttito.
My job is incredibly rewarding; I collaborate with brands I dreamed of affording as a child but couldn’t. Now, I work with them.
Of course, there are moments of high stress, especially during fashion week, or frustration when content doesn’t turn out the way I want.
Once, I had to redo a video 12 times and felt like I wasn’t good enough! The community always expects content, so when I’m not particularly inspired, I feel bad because I don’t feel productive.
But overall, I wouldn’t trade this job for anything. The positives far outweigh the negatives.
SEXY AND SOMETIMES ELEGANT
My days are always full and varied, between work events and content creation. So, when I have time for myself, I focus on rest and physical and mental well-being (skincare, gym, reading…).
I also have many friends (most of them are colleagues), and I love spending time with them.
As for my style, I don’t think I have one in particular. Sometimes I feel like a tomboy, other times sexy, and sometimes elegant.
I dress according to the personality I want to embody at that moment. Maybe the thing that defines me the most is my haircut – the bob!
When I have free time, I like going to The Allianz Arena (I’m a Juventus fan), bowling, or doing escape rooms with friends.
I also love singing and dancing (as a child, I dreamed of being a showgirl). I did artistic gymnastics for 10 years, so I also enjoy going to the gym and staying in shape.
I would love to work on TV as a host, so my ideal day would be: Wake up early, go to the gym, head straight to the studio to host my show, have half a day free to pursue other passions and end with dinner out with my friends. (since I don’t have a boyfriend).
I FELT LESS ALONE
My community is almost entirely female, and it’s wonderful to exchange opinions and advice with them, whether it’s about beauty or life in general.
They’ve been very supportive during difficult times, like my mom’s cancer or the miscarriages I’ve had. I felt less alone thanks to the experiences they shared with me.
At the end of the day, I’m a simple girl, and I think my followers appreciate me for that.
Except for those who, when they meet me, say, “I thought you’d be stuck-up,” but I’m actually the most cheerful, sociable, and funny person.
Until now, I had never shared my true, difficult story, so I think people might be surprised by it.
One of the things I love about my job is travelling and the experiences brands organise. In addition to seeing incredible locations, you have the chance to meet other creators and build great relationships (like Dolma Lisa, one of my closest friends whom I met in Spain thanks to our work).
Another work trip that stayed in my heart was Tokyo… But I’ve also been to many other places like Frankfurt, Lisbon, Ibiza, and America, and I have wonderful memories of each of them.
