The Concept Hotel Group, the most exciting and innovative brand across the hospitality industry in Spain, has today launched it’s most ambitious and eagerly awaited property yet, Mongibello.
Founder and CEO, Diego Calvo’s Concept Hotel Group portfolio includes the groundbreaking; Santos, Tropicana, Dorado, Cubanito, Paradiso, Romeos, Grand Paradiso and now Mongibello, stands proudly alongside the most creative concepts seen across Ibiza.
The latest concept is a blend of all of life’s pleasures. Inspired by The Talented Mr Ripley, the old essence of Italy and Ibiza of the 60s and 70s where hedonism roamed wild and free, and where “attractive people did attractive things in attractive places.”
The hotel has 167 rooms and 32 suites paying homage to 32 Bon Viviants, who made living a true art through their lifestyle, work, and talent. Their legacy is intertwined with the history of the island, from legendary motorcycle champion Angel Nieto to Carlos Martorell, the man who made dreams come true and parties with Mick Jagger possible.
Mongibello is creating an atmosphere that brings back the Mediterranean essentials of the carefree and bohemian souls that made this island their home and the attitude that defined an era.
This hotel is truly what The Art of Living is all about. This is Ibizan Dolce Vita in Santa Eulalia holding hands with Italian neoclassical style. It has been cultivated to rejuvenate and resuscitate a bye-gone era. At Mongibello you could imagine Monica Belluci sitting seductively poolside sipping on a cocktail, whilst Alain Delon, wearing a satin dressing gown, topped up his negroni. A heady concoction of hedonism, style and glamour is now open for business.
The hotel itself is dripping in nostalgia and is a sea of beautiful blue and white with delicate touches of red throughout. They have worked with artists and brands that represent the hotel’s Irreverent spirit to create the vision they wished to portray. Works of legendary photographer Slim Aaron can be seen adorning the walls, there are also nods to Gio Ponti, the Father of Italian design who redefined and perfected the concept of design, elevating it to the highest levels of art.
No stone has been left unturned as interior design duo Michele Corbani and Andrea Spada bring to life their distinctive touch of Italian eclecticism to Mongibello.
Artist Marco Torres has created a number of glorious illustrations which dress the walls. There is work from contemporary design prodigy, Sergo Prieto, tableware by Casa Maracruz, and you’ll find an Alfa Romeo Spider and Vespas which can be driven into the evening as the sky transforms into a canvas of fiery oranges, soft pinks, and vibrant purples, casting a warm glow over the entire perfect landscape.
Each room, has been designed with a decoration inspired by the Amalfi Coast with touches of Ibiza, dedicated to different personalities who have a very special connection with the island. All of this with the incomparable setting of Es Caló de s’Alga beach at your feet in this unrealistically beautiful Mediterranean enclave.
The hotel comes equipped with double rooms, sea view suites and sea view terraces, and stunning Bello suites with an outdoor terrace and all the extras imaginable.
Guests will also be able to drink at Bar Aperitivo, a classic cocktail of American culture mixed with an Italian feeling, which has been designed by the team behind Dante NYC.
As industry leaders in New York City (the home of cocktails) and internationally recognised as the best bar in the world in 2019 by the “World’s 50 Best Bars” and “Tales of the Cocktails Spirited Awards,” the team has applied their expertise to the art of aperitivo, and mixology. The hotel also comes with its own hidden secrets, EL Salon, Lolas and La Piazzetta all of which are waiting to be explored.
Also by the Dante team, is the La Terrazza Restaurant, and coming in 2024, is The Wanderlust Restaurant, by EL Silencio. The revolutionary Parisian restaurant group and creators of Silencio Club and Silencio Des Prés are arriving at Mongibello with a spectacular new concept, encompassing cocktails and street food.
Diego Calvo’s Mongibello is redefining The Art of Living. It encompasses all that’s beautiful about Ibiza and Dolce Far Niente. There is no longer any need to be nostalgic about the Ibiza of old. Because those days are back. They are right here in this palace of paradise where a legacy is waiting to be born.
